Country cooking attracts crowds

16/05/2008 11:04:00 AM
It was standing room only at the Geurie Bowling Club on Wednesday when the local craft group held their Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea fundraiser.

The club raises money each year exclusively for the Cancer Council, with last year’s totalling more than $8000.

The morning tea attracted huge crowds including local school children, council workers and people travelling from Dubbo for a taste of country cooking and company.

There was also a fantastic display of quilts and other handcrafts, with a few up for raffle along with bottles of wine and other great prizes.

The event was a great success and is sure to have raised much-needed funds for cancer research and awareness.
