It will be a busy few days for Cowboys player Nathan Smith this weekend after being selected to play in the Group 11 side in Orange.
Smith will hit the field against the Group 6 side at Wade Park on Saturday before rounding up to play with the Cowboys in Sunday’s match against Macquarie at Apex Oval in Dubbo.
The Cowboys clashed with the Forbes side last weekend with mixed results.
The first grade team played a fantastic match, coming out on top with a 32-28 victory, while the reserves and under 18s did it a bit tough.
First grade tries were scored by Mick Louie 2, Anthony Louie, Anthony West, Chris Ahsee and Nathan Smith. Chris Ah-see kicked four goals.
The reserve side went down 60-14 with tries from Trent Staggs, Malcolm Ney and Greg Carr, with Ronald South scoring one goal.
The under 18s were neck and neck with Forbes throughout the first 20 minutes but it was all downhill from there, ending in a 54-16 loss.
Saia West, Brendan Gale and Raymond Fuller all scored tries, with Les Kennedy and Raymond Fuller scoring a goal each.
This week’s points go to:
Under 18s: Les Kennedy 3, Trent McDonald 2 and Aiden Ryan 1.
Reserves: Faiva Peckham 3, John Dickerson 2 and Matthew Newman 1.
First grade: Ben McGregor 3, Ryan Humphries 2 and Brad Dwyer 1.
A big thanks needs to go to Aiden Ryan and Corey May for filling in for first grade.
This weekend the Cowboys take on Macquarie at Apex Oval.
Juniors kick off at 12pm.
The following weekend will be a home game, so get out the maroon and white streamers.
