Wellington’s Sarah Teelow is well on the way to following in her world champion mother’s footsteps after winning a top waterski racing award.
Sarah was named Country and ACT Junior Skier of the Year following a season of consistently high results.
The award was determined by the pointscore from the NSW ACT Ski Racing Championships, a six-round series that combines associations from across the State.
Sarah won the under-16 girls marathon and the under 16-girls 2 Up divisions, came second in under-16 girls speed and third in the social women’s class.
Consistency is the key in series racing, and Sarah consistently matched it with her fellow competitors throughout the season.
Sarah’s pointscore also put her miles ahead of the competition in the overall NSW ACT series.
Current Formula 2 world champion Tania Teelow also had a successful season, however, it ended with injury in Round 6 at Wiseman’s Ferry in April.
Tania scored a win in the open women’s marathon, and second in the open women’s speed class.
She also competed strongly in several other classes but did not pointscore and trophy in those divisions.
