 McCarroll back in winning form

McCarroll back in winning form

4/07/2008 11:42:00 AM
After a long spell away from the game and a spasmodic return, Paul McCarroll took home the winner’s booty last Saturday.

He came in with 43 points in the Individual Stableford event kindly sponsored by Peter Payne.

Darren Whiteley, while returning optimistically to the club house took home the runner-up prize with 42 points on a countback from James Cusack and Gary Cusack.

Other ball winners were Lewis Payne 41, John Gersbach 39, Ben McCarthy 38, Paul Hannelly 38, Robert Baker 38, Stephen Kiss 37, Kevin Reid 37, Matt Reid 36, Norm Smith 36 and David Ryan 36.

Nearest the Pin awards went to Michael Keirle third, John Gersbach eighth, Paul McCarroll 14th and Robert Baker 16th.

The Naveau Earthmoving nearest to the pin in two was Matt Reid on the 17th.

A Grade McDonald’s Family Restaurant’s biggest whack on the 18th went to John Gersbach with B Grade to Barry Jeffery.

One group came in adamant that the markers had not been put out. Further enquiries revealed that none of that group managed to come up the 18th, rather choosing to come up the first for whatever reason.

The Bradman Award was hotly-contested. Reports reveal that Maurie Lay went home thinking he had it in the bag. Ray Sewell’s 19 points soon put paid to that. Apparently Maurie is wondering whether he should be allowed back on the golf course?

Tomorrow’s event will be sponsored by Col Arnold. The event is the Monthly Medal. Next week is a Four Ball Best Ball Stableford.

A reminder that members’ annual subscriptions were due to be paid by July 1.

Congratulations to all those players repairing pitch marks other than their own. The way it is going, soon there won’t be any left to repair
