Sheridan strikes form to claim win

Wellington Golf Club had a great field last Saturday including one visitor Josh Payne from Singleton.

Last Saturday’s events were the May Monthly Medal plus round two of the Naveau Earthmoving Trophy as well as round one of the Matchplay Championships and round six of the Frank and Jeune Gersbach Pointscore.

David Naveau Earthmoving was the sponsor for the day.

The Friday night putting competition is on tonight. If you need a ride on the bus please let Bob Watts know so he can pick you up. The bus will leave straight after the football.

To qualify for the final you must first win a round plus play at least three rounds.

This Saturday’s events are a 4BBB stableford plus round one of the Cornish Trophy as well as the qualifying round of the NSW 4Ball Champoinships.

Sponsors for this week are Peter Cornish and Robert Baker.

A Grade medal winner was Colin Sheridan with a 67nett, he also won the Naveau Earthmoving Trophy with a combined two round score of 135nett.

A Grade runner-up with a 70nett was Gary Cusack.

B Grade medal winner was Paul West with a 68nett on a countback.

B Grade runner-up was Geoff Walker, also with a 68nett.

Ball competition winners were Bob Watts 69nett, Pat Everingham 70nett, James Cusack 71nett, Gary Holding 71nett, Robert Baker 72nett, Joe Mason 72nett, Wayne Lang 72nett, Peter Payne 72nett, Mitchell Cusack 73nett, Neil Hollow 73nett, Ben McCarthy 73nett, Malcolm Payne 73nett, Ian Manning 73nett, Joe Ryan 73nett, Chad Taylor 73nett, Kevin Whale 73nett, Tim Parker 73nett.

NTPs, eighth Dave Wilson, 14th Fletcher Ivey, 16th Wayne Lang.

The Naveau Earthmoving Bradman Trophy went to John Southwell with an 87nett, but it was hotly contested with Cricket only finishing one shot short.
